Testimonies from Christ Church
I work as a project manager for a small family business that has a contract with a huge national organisation. Frequent changes in personnel and priorities on the client’s side made project delivery very difficult because of changes that were not in the original contract, like new requirements and timescales. When we raised the issues with the new client team, they were not ready to listen to us and even threatened to contest our claims at any level, which was quite worrying for my boss.
I told my boss that as I am a Christian, my God always fights all my battles for me and He is yet to lose any battles. I took the matter up in prayer and a few people in church joined me in praying. Soon afterwards, a more senior manager on the client’s side stepped in and gave instructions for our concerns to be examined. In the space of 6-8 weeks we got all the issues resolved and our claims were paid!
These “answered prayers” gave me an opportunity to talk to colleagues about how God works in our everyday lives.
My two daughters went to Christ Church with neighbours when t
hey were aged 10 and 8 years old, and I was attending another church. They invited me to Christ Church and told me that I would like it, so I went along one Sunday in November 2002 and have continued until today.
I am encouraged that each Sunday, I can take away something that is preached and grow a little more in that area of my life. I enjoy the praise and worship and the preaching of God’s word.
